Water, water, and water. The talk of the town this week. Flows were at 11K yesterday morning. The dam people dropped us to just above 9K yesterday afternoon. Flows have remained steady at 9,030 cfs this morning. There is rumor that we will be flowing down to a more “normal” flow by the end of the week. Possibly around 6K. This brings dry fly fishing to the mind. PMD’s and Caddis. Its just about that time of year. Traffic on the river slowed down the past few days, but we expect things to pick up as the week progresses. We are going to have some partly cloudy skies with the occasional thunderstorm for weather. Most of the fishing has been sub surface with the same old nymph patterns. Worms, scuds, czech nymphs, and still the fire bead are all producing. Caddis Pupa and Mayfly nymphs are also a good choice as we march our way into the summer season. 7-8ft from bobber to flies is a good starting point.

Streamers have been fishing well depending on the weather. Today we have good cloud cover, should be awesome for the streamer. White, olive, and flashy stuff are all a great idea. Sink tips are a must. A Versileader in the 10ft 5.9ips is the most popular.

Dries have been getting better and better. Some fish are podding up and eating on top. The opportunities are still just here and there so if you see them up on top take a shot, you might be surprised. Parachute stuff is working well. Spinners are also good. We really like the Hi-Viz BWO spinner- a orange post and CDC wings. You can’t go wrong with that pattern.
